Sweet Pooris.


  1. Refined Flour – 500 gms.
  2. Semolina – 250 gms.
  3. Sugar – 150 gms.
  4. Cardamom powder – 1 tsp.
  5. Vegetable Oil – 3 tbsp.
  6. Vegetable oil – For deep frying.
  7. Water – as needed.


Step 1 – To start with, take the given amount of refined flour in a bowl and using water or milk knead it to make a pliable dough.

Step 2 – Take a heavy bottomed karahi and add some vegetable oil or butter into it. When it gets heated add semolina in it. And saute it for five minutes.When semolina starts to get pinkish sprinkle some water on it and switch the gas off.Take care not to burn the semolina. Now add sugar and cardamom powder.You can switch over to sugar free instead of sugar.

Step 3 – Now take small portions of the dough in your hand and  fill the portion with semolina mixture as much is possible.Do not overfill them as they may crack. Flatten them to a small sized chapati with a rolling pin.

Step 4 – Now heat vegetable oil in a karahi and when it gets  hot drop the stuffed pooris in oil and deep fry them till they are slightly browned.Take them out on tissue paper to drain excess oil.

Note point – The filling of pooris can be done with khoya also instead of semolina.

Our sweet semolina pooris are ready to be enjoyed best with sweet curd or cream.

Lotus seed Sweet Meats.

Hello everybody and welcome to my recipe corner once again. Today we’ll be making a very unique dish of lotus seeds cooked in sugar syrup. It has got a very great taste,is crunchy  and is a sweet snack. So here we go —


  1. Lotus seeds – 250 gms.
  2. Sugar – 300 gms.
  3. Water -1 1/2 cup.


Step 1 – Roast lotus seeds in a heavy bottom vessel till a little brownish.

Step 2 – Now take a vessel,add one and a half cup of water and add to it the given amount of sugar and cook it on a high flame to make a one string thick syrup.

Step 3 -Mix the lotus seeds in the sugar syrup and cook it on a medium flame till dry.

Our lotus seed sweet meats are ready to be enjoyed.

Method:Firstly we will scrape ginger and yam and then along with green chillies we will wash them all.We need to dry all the moisture from these cut veggies ,so we can let them dry in fan.Next we will grate our ginger and yam and cut the green chillies into very small pieces.Now in a borosil vessel we will put our cut and grated ingredients,salt,turmeric powder,redchillipowder,hing,yellow mustard powder,some achar masala,chaat masala and add synthetic vinegar and mix them.Lastly we will add mustard oil and give them all a good mix.We need to put it in sunlight for 3 days after which it gets ready to be eaten.
